What is an open string blues lick? An open string blues lick is a blues lick that uses a combination of fretted notes and open strings. Open string blues licks are widely used in blues and by blues guitar players. Stevie Ray Vaughan was a huge fan of open string licks.

Also check out position 1, position 2, position 3, position 4 if you haven’t been able to do that yet. Now is the time to improve your skills and become an accomplished guitar player. 💪😊🎸

5th Position G Major Scale

We are going to learn the Major scale “5th position”, also referred to as the G-shape. Once you’ve practiced all these scale position thoroughly you have a broader understanding of the how the major scale works across the entire fretboard. The more you expand your knowledge of scales and music theory the more you will understand the overall picture of how music works and that will result into better playing, better soloing, better music composition skills, better everything guitar. So don’t waste your time and get to work.

Yes, it’s a gorgeous day today, it’s time for the 4th position of the Major Scale. This post is part of the G major scale series (position 1, position 2, position 3, position 4 up to this point) so if you haven’t checked out the previous lesson please do so. Easy Minor Pentatonic Blues Lick – Key of E

Buenos días amigos de la guitarra, today I’ll be teaching an easy basic blues guitar lick in the key of E. Blues is usually played in the key of E or in the key of A, so for today I decided it’s gonna be key of E.

On a side note, I’ll be continuing the major scale shape/position series real soon, but I thought it would be nice to give you some more time to get the first three major scales shapes really under your belt.

EASY BASIC MINOR PENTATONIC BLUES LICK – KEY OF E

This E minor pentatonic blues lick is really nice for beginners and intermediate players. You can play it over a 12 bar blues in the key of E or an Em chord progression.
