By Klaus Crow 6 Comments

We all procrastinate and so do I. Email and exercise are my weak spots and I find that improving certain guitar skills are very time consuming so I tend to procrastinate, but I have found some pretty exquisite ways to overcome that.

Yes, it’s good and healthy to procrastinate once in a while. Sometimes it’s just better to leave things alone and come back to it another time. It can do miracles.

But when putting it off becomes a habit and starts working against you, you might want to find a way to deal with it. After all you want to become a better guitar player right?

Well here are the keys to solve this procrastination issue for once and for all.

Let’s hack it!

1 – Stop thinking and start doing
If you think too much about the amount of work and effort that goes into a song, a solo, learning to play fast or mastering a particular style then that thought becomes bigger and bigger. You might worry about failure or other issues, but the more you think about it the more complex it becomes. The thought expands a little more until it becomes a beast and you don’t know how to deal with it anymore.Continue Reading

Thought provoking questions can make you realize what you’re missing out on in life, what you are grateful for or what things are still left undone.

I always ask myself stimulating questions from time to time to make sure I’m on the right track and staying true to myself and the people around me.

Are you still being honest with yourself? Are you sure you know where you stand?

Let’s take a look at some guitar-player-life-examining questions to trigger your thought process.

Print the questions and write down your answers in a notebook. Are you content or are you going to make a change?

Top 3 Inspiration List for 2014

I always have many things I want to learn, accomplish, try and experience.

And starting a new year always gives that extra boost. As if you’re starting from a clean slate.

I don’t set a specific time or date to reach a certain goal to avoid stress or complicated situations. I just give in to the feeling of what I want to create or experience at any particular moment.

It’s just more fun than trying to discipline myself to accomplish something, forcing myself not to procrastinate and then doing something I don’t really feel like. I’d rather go with the flow. I get things done, but they are the right things at the right time.

Of course there’s also a way to make things fun that don’t seem to be fun in the first place. This requires some creative thinking. Sometimes I’ll try to come up with things that will make a task more challenging, exciting, enjoyable, easier, comfortable, entertaining and off I go.

I do make lists of all the things I want and don’t want in my life. And because there are many things I’d love to do, I always write them down to make sure I don’t forget each and everyone of them.

Once I have written down all the things I want to do in the new year I select a top 3 of the most important ones that definitely have to be part of my life. All the other wishes will flow gently around the top 3 waiting for their turn.Continue Reading

How to Become The Guitar Player You Really Want to Be

Every important change you’ve made in your life started with an act of imagination.

Your imagination is the source of everything that you are and will be.

If you want to become the guitar player you really want to be or accomplish other great things in your life you have to imagine it.

And with “Imagine it” I don’t mean just some random one-time-only wish of yours.

You have to really believe what you want and imagine it several times every single day. You have start breathing the life you want to live. Just start living it and acting towards it.

No matter what other people will tell you or how they try to discourage you, if you believe it (without listening the other peoples voice in your head), if you can imagine it vividly and it feels true to you then life will unfold in that manner and a path will lead you to awesomeness.

You will attract the right people and the right circumstances at the right time.

You have to continuously follow your heart in this. There is experimenting involved, exploring new territory and although it may be challenging, if there’s something inside of you that says you can do it then do it. But it’s important to imagine it lively, believe and feel it as if you already accomplished it.Continue Reading
