Here are the three best ways to improve your skills beyond your wildest dreams:
#1 – Practice
#2 – Practice
And last, but certainly not least:
#3 – Practice
No, I am not kidding. As the ancient saying goes: “Practice makes perfect”. If you’re still not satisfied… practice some more. It’s okay to break a sweat! As with everything in life, if you want to accomplish something you got to work on it. But it’s also important that you enjoy your work. In fact that is the key to become a great guitar player.
You got to find a way to make practicing fun! It’s all about being creative in your mind and uplifting your spirit while struggling on the hard parts. You are gonna get there eventually.
– Don’t think about what you can’t do, think about what you practice.
Focus on the moment, concentrate on your left hand, your right hand, your wrists, your arms, your back, your neck. Are you sitting up straight? Are your arms relaxed? Not too uptight? Are you giving it your all best? Are you positive and calm? Are you confident? Are you using different tactics? Try to make up your own. Enjoy the moment, listen thoughtfully to the sound of your chords and tones, be proud of the fact that you are on your way to break your boundaries.
– Practice with the tools you have, while you pursue all the knowledge you want.
Yes, you need the right tools and knowledge, but you don’t need them all right now. With the knowledge you have beforehand, practice as much as you can in every possible way you can think of. Be creative. Create your own exercises. Take everything you now have to the next level.
And as you practice your repertoire, you’ll continue to search for new knowledge. Some of the most famous musicians have limited to poor knowledge of music theory, but because of that they wrote the most beautiful pieces of music ever. Stop making excuses, start practicing and you’ll become a better player every single time you pick up that guitar. Take it away!
Use your ears, use your imagination, use your persistence.
